How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Cozy 2 BR Lodge Near Barefoot Landing, Pools, Golf, Shopping, Restaurants has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
