Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the best rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 16th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
