Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 17th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
