Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing your prefectrental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 17th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
