Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 18th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
