Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 6th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
