Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group select a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 18th-floor oceanfront snowbird-friendly condo with pool, hot tub, & AC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
