Rental booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 1br Deluxe Condo on Shores of Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
