Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pristine Oceanfront Suite with Enticing Views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
