Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. 1BR Indoor Water Park in Oceanview's Dunes Village has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
