Vacation rental tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Direct Oceanfront Views,Walk Beach New Sea Mist has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
