Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the perfectrental home:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 1st Floor Oceanfront Room: Escape to Seaside Fun has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
