Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 1st-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, lazy river, AC & gym has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review.
