Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Pool \/ Courtyard View Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
