How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Heron Pointe Modern Villa w Pools has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
