How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 2 Bedroom with optional 3rd Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
