A Breezy Atlantic Coast Escape

It’s no surprise that families appreciate visiting Myrtle Beach. Sun, white sand and boardwalk games are hard not to appreciate. Deciding where to stay? That can be a bit trickier. Staying right on the beach gives you striking vistas but oftentimes a smaller (and sometimes noisier) room. Staying further inland requires some driving back and forth but gives you more room to spread out as a family.

A Breezy Atlantic Coast Escape

It’s no surprise that families savor visiting Myrtle Beach. Sun, white sand and boardwalk games are hard not to appreciate. Deciding where to stay? That can be a bit trickier. Staying right on the beach gives you extraordinary vistas but oftentimes a smaller (and sometimes noisier) room. The good news? There’s no need to choose… our South Beach Resort is right in the sweet spot, just one street across from the Atlantic Ocean. A fast two-min. walk will have you dipping your toes in the ocean or cooling off in the pool at our private beachfront clubhouse. Back at the resort, you can float down our calming lazy rivers, whoosh down giant waterslides, lounge by the lush Lagoon Pool, or sip a poolside drink. Then watch a beautiful South Carolina beach sunset right from your villa balcony. See? It’s the best of both worlds.

Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 2 Minutes' Walk to Ocean from this 1BD condo within resort with lots of amenities has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
