A Breezy Atlantic Coast Escape
It’s no surprise that families savor visiting Myrtle Beach. Sun, white sand and boardwalk games are hard not to adore. Deciding where to stay? That can be a bit trickier. Staying right on the beach gives you extraordinary vistas but oftentimes a smaller (and sometimes noisier) room. Staying further inland requires some driving back and forth but gives you more room to spread out as a family.

Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2 Minutes' Walk to Ocean from this 1BD condo within resort with lots of amenities has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. - Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.

Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review.
