Our top Rental property booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking a perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Direct Oceanfront condo with full access to all resort amenities!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
