Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Direct Oceanfront condo with full access to all resort amenities!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
