How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing and booking the bestrental home:
- To start, have your family select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2 Screen Porches 2 Master Suites Central Surfside has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
