Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Stunning Family-Friendly Ocean Lakes Beach House has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
