Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Creek! Enjoy the Beach, Pools, Golf, Dining! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
