How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. B512 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Sunny Seaside Sanctuary has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
