Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 2BR Beach Getaway: Renovated Unit with Resort View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
