Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Breathtaking Views! Stunning 2BR Suite with Gorgeous Updates-Palace Resort 1207 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
