Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2nd Floor Oceanview Room with Ocean Views Sleeps 4 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
