How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 2nd-floor studio with AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
