Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 6th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
