Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 3 BR Condo-Golf Course has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, contact the host before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
