How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best rental home:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 3 Rd Floor End Unit Ocean View 1BR\/1BA has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
