Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your group decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Oasis Summ has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
