Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Filter your rental search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Direct Pool View LRG End Unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
