Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book yourrental home:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beachfront Condo with city views- Close to attractions has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
