Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beachfront Condo with city views- Close to attractions has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
