Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. BEST360 OCEAN VIEW ! RELAXATION! BREATH TAKING! OCEAN LAKES FAMILY CAMPGROUND has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
