How to find the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- To get the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestvacation home:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 3BR\/2BA Dunes Village Unit 520, Breathtaking View has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
