Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 3BR\/3BA- 4th Floor-Oceanfront-New LVT Floors!-Just Redecorated!-Great Rates! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
