Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 3BR\/3BA- 4th Floor-Oceanfront-New LVT Floors!-Just Redecorated!-Great Rates! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
