Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3A Windermere by the Sea - access to all amenities! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
