Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 3rd-floor ocean-view studio with AC, WiFi, pool & hot tub - dogs OK has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
