Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- First, have your group select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beach Bum Getaway 12th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
