Strategies to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. 3rd-floor oceanfront condo with balcony, beach views, hot tubs, pools & gym has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is best for your family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
