Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Summer & Fall weeks available -3 BR 2 Bath - Includes golf cart has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
