Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your family choose dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 3rd Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ Pool\/Hot Tub, AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
