Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 11th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/WiFi, AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
