How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting and booking yourrental:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 11th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/WiFi, AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
