Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • To find the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. *4 BDR 3 Bath Ocean Lakes Oasis!1 min walk to Beach! FreeWi & Linen Incl! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
