Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. *4 BDR 3 Bath Ocean Lakes Oasis!1 min walk to Beach! FreeWi & Linen Incl! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
