Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 415 Beach Bliss\/ Indoor Pools has 11 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
