Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your group select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 4th Floor Oceanfront Room Oasis with Pool Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
