Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 4th Flr Comfort and Convenience in OV Junior Suite has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
