Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 5th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
