Finding the best vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 6th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, WiFi & AC - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
