Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 6th Floor Partial Coast View Studio w\/ WiFi, AC, Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
