Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 7th Floor, 2 Bedroom, Magnificent Ocean Front, Bayview Resort, Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
